Governance Opportunities
There are different ways you can be involved in governance. You can join the ELAN trust board, become a member, or join a school governing body. You can express an interest in joining us as a member or trustee at anytime. Just complete the governor application form and send it to governance@extendlearning.org and we will get back to you. Parent governor
- Bournville Primary School, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset
- Who can apply? Parents or carers of children currently enrolled at the school.This is a voluntary role.
- Role: Represent the views of parents, contribute to discussions, raise questions and ensure the governing body understands the needs of families.
- Commitment: Attend approx six meetings per academic year and engage with the school community and events.

School community governor
- Banwell Primary School, Banwell, North Somerset
- Who can apply? Members of the local community with skills or experience that can benefit the school (e.g., finance, HR, education, business).
- Role: Provide expertise and an external perspective, support strategic planning, and help ensure accountability.
- Commitment: Similar to parent governors, with a focus on bringing professional knowledge to the table.
