Walliscote prides itself as being a creative, innovative and inclusive school that has a long tradition of being a caring and hardworking community where we strive to achieve the maximum educational and social development of all our children.
Thousands of children have been part of the school over the many decades that the
school has been in existence. The school was built in 1897 and has been modified over
the years to provide an interesting educational setting, well equipped for learning in
the 21st century.
We have high expectations for our children. We want them to achieve the very best
for themselves in all aspects of school life. Children are positively encouraged to learn
effectively, taking an increasingly greater proportion of responsibility for their
learning as they progress through the school.
We are a caring, supportive school where all staff work as a team with parents, governors and others to ensure the children grow into confident learners. Our motto is “Achievement by Building Confidence” and we aim to achieve this for our children in all areas of school life. Every child is nurtured academically, socially and emotionally to support their development. We believe that children learn best through “doing”; we arrange visits to places to enable them to have first-hand experience of areas of the curriculum such as History and Geography. We also have regular productions from theatre companies so that the children can enjoy live performances of drama and music.
