Family Support Worker – Walliscote Primary School

20 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Family Support Assistant to work alongside our current Pastoral Team to support children and their families on issues relating to child protection, safeguarding, behavior, social/emotional needs and attendance.  You will be required to work closely with identified children and families. The duties of the role will include but not be limited to:

  • Liaising and providing effective support to pupils and their families.
  • To act as the school’s Attendance Manager, ensuring appropriate procedures are followed, accurate records kept and attendance issues pursued.
  • Working with the Senior Leadership to promote and support the regular and timely attendance of pupils.
  • Liaising with the school staff and other professionals as necessary
  • Attending meetings and reviews as necessary
  • Supporting pupils through transitions in school, between schools and in their personal lives to ensure continued engagement with school & learning
  • General office and admin duties

The post will focus on preventative and early intervention activities to meet the needs of children when specialist services and other agencies may not be involved. This aspect of the role will involve close communication with SMT, class teachers, families and outside agencies.

The successful candidate would be one who has the experience, skills and vision to be able to take the family support worker role and mould it to complement and extend the work already done by the Walliscote staff team.

We are looking for friendly and supportive admin assistant to provide efficient and effective administrative support.

The successful candidate will report to the SENCo and be required to work on general administrative duties which will include but not be limited to:

  • Filing / organising paper work
  • Making/ receiving phone calls

  • Organising files
  • Ad-hoc administrative tasks

 We are looking for a suitably experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Management Support Assistant to join our friendly office team, supporting the Headteacher / SLT.

 We are looking for someone who has excellent word processing, inter-personal and organisational skills, along with a high standard of oral and written English.

You will be expected to minute meetings, liaise with staff, prepare and type reports/documents. Therefore a high level of confidentiality is required.  Competence in ICT and the ability to use your initiative is essential.
